KOALA Awards

Nominations for the 2024 KOALA (Kids Own Australian Literature Awards) are open now and close at the end of term 1!

You can nominate up to four books at the library, or online at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScTLzyTPcaFrwuJPW94lRQ9SIUOMb24vCfW-gIYbT9J7kTN9Q/viewform.

Selection criteria

  • The book must be Australian
  • The book must've been published in the last ten years
  • The book must not be a previous winner.  A complete list of previous winners can be found at www.koalansw.org.au/s/All-previous-winners-to-2023.pdf and at www.koalansw.org.au/winners.
  • Nominations must be for a specific title, for example 'The Race Is On: Wolf Girl Book 10' not 'Wolf Girl books'.
    • Once five books from the same series have won a REAL Award (YABBA and KOALA), the series is no longer eligible for nomination.
Once nominations close at the end of term one, a Shortlist will be announced at the commencement of term 2, then it's time to vote! Voting closes at the end of term 3, ready for Awards Day in November!
