Ballina Library Refurbishment Nearing Completion 

Ballina Library will reopen on Monday 3 November following its first major upgrade in ten years.
The temporary pop-up Library at the Ballina Indoor Sports Centre (BISC) will close from Friday 17 October so staff can prepare the new space for reopening.
 
During the short transition period:

• The Mobile Library will continue operating on weekends up until, and including, 1 and 2 November at La Balsa Plaza between the Ballina Visitor Information Centre and the Ballina War Memorial Pool.
• Please check the library catalogue at https://rtrl.spydus.com/cgi-bin/spydus.exe/MSGTRN/OPAC/EVENTS?HOMEPRMS=EVSESPARAMS for program details and times.
• All regular services, including after-hours returns, computers, Wi-Fi, printing, and programs, remain available at Alstonville and Lennox Head libraries, as well as other Richmond Tweed Regional Library branches.
• The Online Library at www.rtrl.nsw.gov.au/your-online-library is available 24/7, with free access to eBooks, eAudiobooks, magazines and more.

Key Dates: 

Refurbishment 1 September 2025 to 2 November 2025 inclusive—Ballina Library site will be inaccessible to the community for the duration of the refurbishment to allow refurbishment works to be carried out safely and efficiently.

Popup Library Services will close from Friday 17 October so staff can prepare the new space for reopening.

RTRL Mobile Library available on weekends parked between the Visitor information Centre and Ballina War Memorial Pool for browsing, borrowing, returning, and collection of reservations. Saturdays from 1-4 pm, and Sundays from 9:30 am-4 pm. Concludes after weekend 1 and 2 November. 

Read, Make, Play Wednesdays at the Richmond Room (access via Regatta Avenue). 10 am Story Time, 11 am Baby Time, 1-2 pm Board Games—Chess, Scrabble, and more.

Other Library Services 

Full library services are available from any other branch of Richmond Tweed Regional Library including wi-fi access, computer access, printing, after-hours return chutes, browsing, borrowing, and programs.
