NSW Premiers Reading Challenge

The NSW Premier's Reading Challenge is on again for 2025 with the aim of encouraging a love of reading for leisure—and pleasure—in students. It also hopes to enable them to experience quality literature. It's not a competition, but a challenge to each student to read, to read more, and to read more widely.

The NSW Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC) is accessible to all NSW students in Kindergarten to Year 10, in government, independent, Catholic, and home schools. Students can log in to the PRC website at https://online.education.nsw.gov.au/prc/studentExperience.html#/ now!

2025 Challenge dates

Challenge opens Monday 24 February 2025
Challenge closes to students Friday 22 August 2025
Challenge closes to coordinators Friday 5 September 2025

To make it even easier, all PRC books are free to reserve and can be collected from the branch most convenient for you. In the library, you’ll also find colour-coded stickers on PRC books, helping you quickly identify titles for different year categories.
