Richmond Tweed Regional Library

Click and Collect

The library is now offering a Click and Collect service whilst our branches are closed to the public. Library members can reserve up to 20 items and then arrange a time to collect them from the Library.

How does Click and Collect work?

You can now make arrangements to collect up to 20 items from the Library once per month. Library members can search the Library catalogue for items to reserve. When you receive notification that your items are available for collection you can phone your closest branch to arrange a time to collect your items. You are only permitted one Click and Collect booking per month but you can reserve and collect up to 20 items each time. You need to bring your library bag to put your items in.

*IMPORTANT* Items must show a status of 'available' for you to be able to reserve them.

Please contact your closest branch to check your Library account details to ensure we can contact you via SMS or email to let you know your reserves are available.

Staff are available in the branches to assist with your selections by phone if required. Call your closest branch.

You can also ring to request a Staff Pick Pack of 10 random items selected by staff or you can nominate a particular genre and staff will select titles for you.

How much does it cost?

Click and Collect is a free service being offered whilst the Library branches are closed to the public.

How do I pick up my items?

Once you have phoned your nearest branch and booked a collection time you can visit your Library and collect the items. You will need your library card or photo ID to collect your items. They will already be checked out to you and ready to go. When you arrive follow all directions and signs. Ensure you maintain social distancing protocols at all times. You will be asked to show staff your library card or ID at the door. Staff will retrieve your items and place them on the table outside the door. You can then step forward and pack your items into your own Library bag. Don't forget to give us a friendly wave!

How long will my items take to be ready?

You can reserve items from any branch of RTRL. The items must show an 'available' status for you to reserve them and receive them. You will need to wait until staff can select your items and the courier can deliver them to your preferred pick up location. You will receive notification via email or SMS. This could take several days to a week or so.

I have notifications that all of the items I requested are available to pick up, how can I book a time to collect my items?

Once you have notifications that all of your reserved items are available for collection you can phone your closest branch to book a time to collect your items.

How long can I keep the items?

The loan periods have been extended to 74 days for all items so that you will have plenty of time to read them. There is no rush to get items back. No overdue fees will be charged whilst the branches are closed to the public.

Is it safe to borrow and return items?

Yours and the Library staffs' safety is of the utmost importance. All returns are put aside for three days before being handled by staff. Staff will wear gloves at all times when making the selections for you. You can only collect your items from the door at the library at your scheduled time. All staff and Click and Collect users are required to observe social distancing protocols at all times.

I can't carry my items - can you put them in the car for me?

Unfortunately we cannot place items in your car. You will need to be able to collect them yourself from the desk at the front of the Library. If this is not possible for you, you may be eligible for our Home Library Service - see details here.

Can I pick up items for someone else?

You can collect items for someone else as long as the pick up time is prebooked and you are able to show staff their Library card.
