Put on your pyjamas, bring a toy and join us for a special Story Time! Suitable for children up to seven years. Bookings are not required; just come to the library dressed in your pyjamas and remember to bring a toy that you are happy to leave overnight. Come back the next day to collect your toy and receive a certificate.

StoryBoard Masterclasses, run by professional authors, provide ongoing, regular sessions in which young writers develop and hone their writing skills throughout the term. The free Masterclasses run in the evenings. During the 90-minute workshops participants explore a diversity of writing forms and genres. They free-write, plan, execute, edit and revise their work, often with the aim of bringing a singular idea from concept to completion. In some cases, the final pieces are published as an Anthology. Suitable for 8-13 years.

If you have them, please bring 8 ply acrylic yarn and 4mm knitting needles (#8s), or any size crochet hook. Light lunch will be provided. With a $500 cash prize, the youth poetry cup is funded by the late Melbourne poet John West, and hosted by David Hallett.
