Conditions of entry
Special Conditions of entry From Wednesday 8 November 2021
In the interest of the health and safety of all our readers, visitors and staff, we are complying strictly with the NSW Health recommendations to protect everyone who comes through our doors.

In accordance with the NSW Health checklist for libraries, you must provide your details for the purposes of contact tracing. This information will be deleted after 28 days.

As a condition of entry, you must adhere to the following:
  1. Sign in is mandatory using Service NSW contact tracing tools whether it is for Click and Collect or to enter the building.
  2. In line with the NSW public health orders, people over the age of 16 years must be fully vaccinated to enter the library. You may be required to show proof of vaccination by an authorised officer.
  3. People over the age of 12 years entering the Library must wear a fitted face covering that covers the nose and mouth. If an exemption applies, you must be able to provide the required evidence to an authorised officer if requested. Scarves and bandannas are not allowed. Face masks only.
  4. Adhere to all directives by Service NSW and NSW Health in relation to COVID-19 public health orders, restrictions, and advice
  5. If you are feeling unwell, please do not enter the building;
  6. If you have visited a current declared COVID-19 hotspot in any location you must comply with the health orders in relation to that area
  7. Visitors exhibiting signs of illness may be asked to leave by Library staff 
  8. Practice physical distancing and good hygiene at all times
  9. Please be respectful to staff and other visitors
  10. Follow all directional signage and staff instructions
You will be unable to enter, or you may be asked to leave the premises, if you do not follow these conditions of entry.
Using our libraries

Opening hours

  • The library may be operating at reduced hours, contact your library branch for more information or view the branch information on our website HERE
  • Seating will be reduced, and groups and meetings will only be available if regulations and space allow
  • The Mobile Library will now only be offering a Click and Collect service, Returns
  • Please return all items in the chutes provided


  • You will be able to borrow items as normal and pick up reserves. If possible, please reserve items via the online catalogue available from the library website
  • Normal borrowing periods apply
  • Frequently handled items like newspapers and children's toys may be unavailable at this time

Public computers

  • Printers, scanners, Wi-Fi, and a limited number of PCs will be available for you to use
  • Staff may be able to assist with computers, copying and scanning from the required 1.5 metre distance
  • PC sessions may be limited. Bookings preferred.

  • Downloading the Service NSW app to easily check in at the branch
  • Sanitising your hands when you enter the library
  • Practicing good hygiene and maintaining social distancing
  • Staying at home if you are unwell
  • Using the loan stations where possible
  • To reduce physical contact, EFTPOS is the preferred method of payment where available

Other information

  • Our Online Library remains open 24/7
  • Children's programs and author events will continue online as well as some branches who are able to meet COVID-19 safe restrictions returning to limited face-to-face programs
  • Staff are available to help over the phone 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday
