Byron Bay Library located on the corner of Lawson and Middleton Streets in Byron Bay opened to the public in February 2013.
Under the Indigenous Land Use Agreement, the land on which the new library sits was significantly given to the community as a gathering place for lifelong learning and on behalf
of the community, we say thank you to the elders past and present. Construction on the new Library commenced in September 2011 and was completed in January 2013. The new library has been designed to incorporate sustainable features which provide the building with a 5 star green environmental rating. It is the Shire’s first public building to meet the 5 star rating.
Byron Bay Library Storytime is on Tuesdays at 10.30am and Baby Bounce is Wednesdays at 10 am.
